St Paul's RC Primary School “the missing piece of your child's education” ‘We are the family of God’

Autumn 1 - USA

Our topic for the first half term was 'Roadtrip USA'.

In this topic we looked at the location of America; its geography and landmarks found there. We also focused on the Native Americans and their customs and culture.

Our topic for Science was Electricity.

Working alarms

In class we have been learning about electricity and circuits. This week in Science the children had a problem to solve - my hamster keeps escaping from its cage! Pupils worked together in teams to create an alarm that would trigger when the hamster cage door is opened. This was not an easy task and pupils had to draw upon all their knowledge of circuitry to solve it.

Year 6 will be performing their Production in the School Hall on Wednesday 19th July at 2pm and 6pm. The Teddy Bears Picnic was a great success on Thursday, the new Reception children enjoyed showing the current Reception class their cuddly toys. Congratulations to the Primary Engineers who came North West Runner Up with team Atom's moon buggy, on Wednesday 12th June.
