Updated Government Guidance for Parents Feb 2021
We have updated the guidance for parents to support their children’s remote education to provide more information for parents and carers as they support their children at home.
We have added top tips for supporting children during remote education, including links to information about the Reading Well booklist that supports mental health. We have also provided information on how to access online resources and services through your local library and online support for parents and carers to keep children and young people safe from online harm.
We have updated our guidance for parents and carers on what they need to know about early years providers, schools and colleges during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. This update provides information on school admission appeals, entry tests for selective schools, and exams and assessments in the autumn term.
We have also provided further information on the use of face coverings in schools and links to online resources that are available to help parents, carers and children with their mental health and wellbeing.
Back to school information pack to help reassure parents
(1st September 2020)
As you welcome pupils back to school full-time for the autumn term, we have created a communications pack filled with materials to help you reassure parents. The pack includes leaflets, images and videos to share with parents on the importance of regular handwashing, advice on travelling to and from school, and adaptable assets for your school to tailor accordingly.
Parents are also encouraged to visit gov.uk/backtoschool for information and practical guidance to help them plan for their children’s return to school.
