Summer Provision 2020 Preparation for Year 7

Summer learning for Year 6

Welcome to the Year 6 page for Summer learning provision. smiley

Here you will find lots of resources that will give you the opportunity to work on the skills required for Year 7.

I would recommend using the 'Serial Mash' reading section on Purple Mash to support you with reading.

You can choose any book to read and then complete the questions.

Please choose books from the 'Sapphires' section.

I have set all the work on MyMaths from Year 6 for you to complete.

This will give you the opportunity to recap the skills from the Year 6 curriculum ready for September.

I understand that you will have been completing lots of the Year 6 work in the past months but this is a chance to recap. smiley

Please continue to rehearse your times tables!

Please continue to work on the Summer booklets set from your high schools.

They will help you with your transition and they give you an opportunity to see the level of work that will be set from September.

Transition activities

Please find your transition activities from St. Bede's and Darwen Vale below.

Please follow the links to see your high school's transition pages:

St. Bede's - http://www.stbedesblackburn.com/year-6/

Darwen Vale - http://www.darwenvale.com/darwen-vale-transition-zone-2020/

It would be great if you could print out the booklet to complete. However, I understand that you may not have a printer at home. Therefore, you can complete the activities in different ways such as typed up on your laptop or completed on plain/lined paper. You could also complete these activities by discussing them with the adults at home.

Mindfulness activities

Take a minute to look at the mindfulness activities below. There is no requirement to complete any of them but they are there as an option if you would like to.

There are some great activities to try at home, either on your own or with somebody in your family.
