Welcome to Year 5
Welcome to Class Five. Class Five are taught by Mrs Taylor and Mrs Clucas. Mrs Booth supports the class every morning.
This half term our topic is "Stargazers", where the children will learn about Space in Science; the Space Race in Topic; Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night in Art; and textiles in DT. In English the children will be reading and writing Science Fiction stories and newspaper reports. In Maths we are learning about multiplication, division, area, fractions, decimals, shape and measure. For more detailed information about Maths and English, please see the yearly overviews below.
Spellings will be given out and tested on a Friday.
Maths and English homework will be given out on a Wednesday and needs to be returned the following Wednesday.

On Friday 17th November 2017, Year 5 performed a wonderful assembly about Ancient Egypt and the story of Joseph. Please see photos below.
Visit to Lingfield Court
On Wednesday 15th November 2017, Year 5 spent the morning making cakes, sandwiches and sausage rolls to prepare an afternoon tea for the residents of Lingfield Court. In the afternoon, the children served the food; provided the entertainment; and a great time was had by all. Well done children!
To launch St Paul's new Mission Statement, Year 5 wrote and performed a class poem. Well done Year 5!
