Welcome to Year 5
Welcome to Class Five. Class Five are taught by Mrs Taylor (Monday morning, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) and Mrs Kershaw (Friday). Miss Sharrocks and Miss Austin support the class every morning.
This half term children will be looking at "Stargazers", where they will learn about Earth and Space, and will be doing some art work based upon Van Gogh's Starry Night. We are writing Newspaper articles in English. In Maths we are learning about multiplication, division, fractions and problem solving.
Spellings will be given out every half term and tested on a Wednesday.
Homework will be given out on a Tuesday and needs to be returned the following Tuesday.
On Friday 17th November 2017, Year 5 performed a wonderful assembly about Ancient Egypt and the story of Joseph. Please see photos below.
Visit to Lingfield Court
On Wednesday 15th November 2017, Year 5 spent the morning making cakes, sandwiches and sausage rolls to prepare an afternoon tea for the residents of Lingfield Court. In the afternoon, the children served the food; provided the entertainment; and a great time was had by all. Well done children!
To launch St Paul's new Mission Statement, Year 5 wrote and performed a class poem. Well done Year 5!
Addition and Subtraction
This half term we will be looking at explanations and poetry.
We are currently looking at ourselves and how we are created in the image of God.
