Welcome to Year 5
Welcome to Class Five. Class Five are taught by Mrs Taylor and Mrs Clucas. Mrs Booth supports the class every morning.
This half term our topic is "Off With Her Head", where the children will learn about the Tudors in History. We will be visiting Samlesbury Hall as part of this Topic. In Science, the children will learn about different forces. They are continuing to work with Textiles in Art and DT, moving on to Batik. In English the children will be reading and writing autobiographies and biographies. In Maths we are learning about division, angles, fractions, decimals, shape and measure. For more detailed information about Maths and English, please see the yearly overviews below.
Spellings will be given out and tested on a Friday.
Maths and English homework will be given out on a Wednesday and needs to be returned the following Wednesday.

On Friday 17th November 2017, Year 5 performed a wonderful assembly about Ancient Egypt and the story of Joseph. Please see photos below.
Visit to Lingfield Court
On Wednesday 15th November 2017, Year 5 spent the morning making cakes, sandwiches and sausage rolls to prepare an afternoon tea for the residents of Lingfield Court. In the afternoon, the children served the food; provided the entertainment; and a great time was had by all. Well done children!
To launch St Paul's new Mission Statement, Year 5 wrote and performed a class poem. Well done Year 5!
