Headteacher’s Welcome

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the St. Paul’s RC Primary School website. My name is Mr Gary Foster, and I feel incredibly proud and privileged to be the Headteacher of such a wonderful school, where faith, love and learning come together to create a truly special place for our children to flourish.

At St. Paul’s, we believe that every child is a precious gift from God, wonderfully unique, with their own talents, abilities and dreams.

Inspired by the words of Jesus, “Let the little children come to me” (Matthew 19:14), we place our children at the very heart of everything we do. Their happiness, wellbeing, safety and achievements are, and always will be, our greatest priorities.

As a Catholic school, our faith is not simply something we teach; it is something we live, celebrate and share each and every day. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and inspired by the example of our patron, St. Paul, we strive to create a loving, welcoming and inclusive community where everyone is valued, respected and encouraged to become the very best version of themselves.

Our school mission, “As God’s Family, We Aspire to Love, Grow, Learn and Achieve Beyond Our Dreams,” captures everything we believe in. We encourage our children to ‘Be Like Paul’, showing kindness, compassion, generosity, forgiveness and respect in the way they treat others. As St. Paul reminds us: “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another.” (Ephesians 4:32)

These words beautifully reflect the family atmosphere we work so hard to nurture at St. Paul’s. We want every child who walks through our doors to feel loved, safe, happy and confident that they truly belong.

We are blessed with wonderful children who bring energy, enthusiasm and joy to our school each day, alongside an incredibly dedicated team of staff who care deeply about every child. Together, we aim to provide an exciting, engaging and ambitious education that inspires curiosity, develops confidence and encourages a genuine love of learning.

We recognise that success looks different for every child. Whether it is mastering a new skill, showing kindness to a friend, overcoming a challenge, achieving in sport, expressing creativity or growing in faith, every achievement matters and every child deserves to shine. We want our children to leave St. Paul’s not only with the knowledge and skills they need for the next stage of their education, but also with happy memories, lasting friendships, strong moral values and the belief that they can achieve beyond their dreams.

At the heart of our school is a genuine sense of family. We firmly believe that children thrive when home, school and parish work together, and we greatly value the relationships we build with our parents, carers and wider community. We want everyone to feel welcome, listened to and part of our St. Paul’s family. As Scripture reminds us:“Let all that you do be done in love.” (1 Corinthians 16:14)

For me, these simple yet powerful words sum up what makes St. Paul’s such a special place. Love is at the centre of our faith, our relationships, our learning and our everyday life together.

I hope that as you explore our website, you will gain a real sense of the warmth, happiness, ambition and strong Catholic identity that make St. Paul’s so special. Of course, a website can only offer a glimpse of school life, and there is nothing quite like experiencing the joy, enthusiasm and wonderful spirit of our children and staff first-hand.
