Class motto: Year 3, it's up to me!
In Year three, our teacher is Miss Walsh and we are also very lucky to be supported by Miss Gardner.
Hello! My name is Miss Walsh and I am so honoured to be Y3's class teacher. We have lots of exciting topics planned over the year.
The children are now in Key Stage 2 and have lots of new things to look forward to!
Tuesday: PE day
Thursday: Times tables and division tests. Homework due in.
Friday: Homework is set, spellings are set and tested the following week. Parents welcome to 2.45pm assembly (2.30pm start for a class assembly)
Please can parents sign reading records to show that you have heard your child read. It is really important that your child reads at home as it supports their on-going learning. As the year progresses, your child will change their reading band and the texts become more challenging!
Please check the curriculum maps for each subject area for a more detailed overview of the Year 3 curriculum.
SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) begins in Year 3, which supports the children's reading and writing.
By the end of Year 3, the children are expected to know their 3x, 4x, 6x and 8x times tables as well on building on their secure times tables from Year 1 and Year 2. Times tables are on-going and we have a short test every Thursday.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to come in and speak to us or leave a note in your child's reading record. I am usually available after school. Before school can be a busy time, but we will do our best to talk to you if it is important. For a more formal appointment, please contact the school office.
